The School Horses

We are extremely proud of our excellent school horses. With a selection ranging from ponies to drafts, our riding program can truly meet the needs of every student. All school horses are available for partial leases for students in the riding program.

Hope

Breed: Quarter Horse
Age: 9 years
Height: 14.3hh
Color: Bay

Hope is one of our favorite lesson horses. She was rescued from severe abuse and neglect, and is now loved and pampered by her many adoring students! She loves to do her stretches after riding, including taking a bow to stretch her back!

Jaeda

Breed: Percheron
Age: 7 years
Height: 16 hh
Color: Black

Jaeda entered our rehabilitation program in August 2007 and is a valuable addition to our riding program. Her easy-going nature helps build confidence in new and experienced riders alike. This gentle giant is also the star of our vaulting and fitness riding programs. Ask about seat lessons on Jaeda to help you improve your balance, position and coordination in the saddle.

Jasmine

Breed: Quarter horse
Age: 5 years
Height: 15.1 hh
Color: Chestnut

Jasmine is a beautiful mare with a quiet, calm and sweet nature. Jasmine loves to hit the trails, sort cattle, and chase cows. She has already been in the ribbons at our local shows, and she has a lot of potential!

Angel

Breed: Welsh pony
Age: 12 years
Height: 13 hh
Color: Chestnut

Angel is a little firecracker! She is a very well trained hunter/jumper, but she knows what riders she can try and take advantage of to steal a bite of grass, or cut the corners in the arena! She can be a sweet little horse, but she is a one tough cookie.

Hoshi

Breed: Quarter horse/Arabian cross
Age: 14 years
Height: 15 hh
Color: Bay

Hoshi is a well trained 'quarab' gelding. He does very well with riders at any level, and is an experienced show horse. Hoshi LOVES treats, and he will be your best friend for a carrot!

About Our Horses

We are often asked, “Where do you buy your school horses?” The truth is we believe the very best school horses cannot be purchased but must be developed and cultivated over time. It takes a long time for a horse to develop trust in the handler and the handler to develop trust in the horse. It takes even longer for this trust to extend to a new and unfamiliar rider.

Many of our school horses came to us through our rescue and have been rehabilitated before beginning training to enter our riding program. We believe that every horse deserves a 'second chance' and these horses can go on to teach us valuable lessons both in and out of the saddle.
