LORI DUNHAM & SHOSHONE - 2O1O
Shoshone - 10 year old BLM Mustang
"I have had my mustang gelding for 9 months & after just a few months I
knew I needed some professional help. (He was rescued from abuse 5 years
ago but really had little training. So
at 10 he was still green & lacked confidence.)
He
has been in training with Monica & I’ve been taking lessons with her on
him for 6-months. He
has bloomed during his time with her into a much safer ride. He
is very soft and learning to collect. He has also relaxed and opened up
so that his loving and kind nature shows. Thanks
Monica." -Lori
INARA & KATIE JENKINS - 2008
Inara - BLM Mustang mare, rescued, gentled and placed by NHS
Inara was adopted from the BLM in 2008 and gentled by NHS. She came to the farm as an untouched wild mustang, scared confused and looking for leadership. Her training went by quickly and she proved herself to be eager to learn and a trustworthy partner. Katie had been taking lessons with NHS for about a year when she adopted Inara, who has become a part of the family, and the pair has done well at our local 4-H and open shows! Katie is excited to continue to learn to jump with Inara - Keep up the good work!

Currently leasing our lesson horse
Jaeda
I have been taking lessons with Monica Meyette for over 2 years. I chose Natural Horse Savvy because of Monica's commitment to rescue, rehabilitation and gentle horsemanship techniques. After recovering from surgery and chemo for breast cancer I decided to finally learn to ride horses. Learning to ride as a mid-50s adult is so much fun. It takes longer to learn riding skills as an adult, but it's delightful to enjoy the process with horse, instructor and student. The barn atmosphere is supportive. The students are from all ages and I have made many friends. Monica's teaching style is positive and individualized, skilled and professional. Her advocacy and care for the horses is outstanding. I take lessons and have a part time lease with one of the horses: big beautiful Jaeda, the Percheron. Grooming the horses and taking them for walks or trail rides to thank them is fulfilling. My lesson and lease time is the highlight of every week. I recommend Monica as a teacher and role model for riding. She is a wonderful horsewoman. "Thanks, Monica". - Avonelle Hamilton
